There are a variety of cars running all over the world,cars running on gasoline,diesel,ethanol and even natural gas.But if you look particularly on Brazil,you can see flex-fuel cars which is capable of various mixtures of gasoline and ethanol.Among them,a version of Fiat Siena stands out,because its technology makes it capable of running on any blend of ethanol and gasoline you fill in,not to mention it also run on pure natural gas,which is the cheapest fuel available there.

Now the reason for this cocktail fuel in Fiat Siena is there is no pump station in Brazil which can provide pure gasoline alone,it is always mixed with ethanol,which is produced as a plenty and cheaply there.

Talking about the Fiat Siena,which is also called the tetra fuel car,because it can run on four different fuels,
1.pure gasoline
2.pure ethanol
3.natural gas and
4.any mix of gasoline and ethanol.
The Fiat Siena have liquid fuel tank which can store up to 48 liters of it and two 6.5 cubic meter gas tanks.The engine of Fiat Siena has two sets of injectors one for liquid fuel and the another for gas.These are the major hardware changes in the Fiat Siena.

The heart of this new technology is a major software change in the ECU (engine control unit) of Fiat Siena.It is basically the same as that of an ordinary Siena.But the software is more sophisticated.Various sensors are used to measure the airflow into cylinders,engine speed,load,fuel being sent to engine,etc…These data are fed to the ECU which uses them to optimize spark timing and fuel injection.The ECU also monitors the amount of oxygen in the exhaust and adjust the fuel-air mix continuously so that no oxygen is remaining in the exhaust,meaning a complete combustion,which is a big thumbs up.
